Blue Morpho Butterfly's Characteristic

Morpho Butterfly commonly know as their brighting blue wings edged with black which reflect light when flies. The contrasting bright blue and dull brown colors flash, making it look like the morpho is appearing and disappearing. Their wings spanning from 5 to 8 inches make it well known as the world largest butterfly.

The fact about morpho butterfly's characteristic is that their wings have many eyespots witch actually providing camouflage against predators such as birds like the jacamar and flycatcher when its wings are closed. Other basic characteristic about blue morpho are same with those others butterflies that have two clubbed antennas which serve as a combined tongue and nose, two fore wings, six legs, head, thorax and adomen.

From the beginning of its lifecycle as a caterpillar, it chews leaves for food but when it become a butterfly it can no longer chew, but drinks its food instead. They use a long, protuding mouthpart like straw to sip the juice of fruit, tree sap, fungi and wet mud. On the saintific research, the blue morpho used its legs as a sensors to taste a fruit and their anteanae to taste the smell of the fruite.
