Blue Morpho Butterfly Habitat

Blue morphos butterfly mostly live in the tropical forests of Latin America from Mexico to Colombia. Adults spend most of their time on the forest ground and in the lower bushes and plants of the understory along with their wings folded.

In spite of this, when looking for mates, the blue morpho butterfly will soar throughout every layers of the forest. Humans most frequently catch sight of morphos butterfly in clearings as well as down streams where their vivid blue wings are most observable. Pilots flying above rainforests have even encountered bulky groups of blue morphos butterfly above the treetops, for warming and resting themselves in the sun.

The blue morphos total existence lasts just 115 days, which means most of their age is spent eating and reproducing.

Blue butterflies are one of my favorites also. I think the deepness of their blue color are truly amazing. I did not know they lived for only 115 days. Sad
